With deep ties to Bullhead City since 1996, Captain John has spent years between Bullhead and Las Vegas, before returning to his hometown full-time in 2022. Married to Shelley Martinolich, John enjoys spending his free time working on home projects with her, including remodeling, restoring, and even tackling older motorhome renovations. When not on the river, you’ll often find him relaxing on a pontoon boat, enjoying some beach time by the river on Sundays. 🎶
A Lifetime of Service and Dedication
Before joining Laughlin River Tours, Captain John had an impressive career as a Firefighter/Paramedic. With 26 years of service—6 years with Bullhead City Fire and 20 with Las Vegas Fire & Rescue—John developed a deep sense of duty and responsibility, qualities that make him a dependable captain. His transition from the fire department to becoming a captain on the river was driven by a desire to stay active and keep a sense of purpose, both of which he brings to the crew every day. “Being a Captain keeps me busy and challenged,” he says. “And I’m lucky to work with such an amazing crew from top to bottom.” 💪
