MEET OUR AWARD WINNING CHEF, JERRY

Meet Gerald “Jerry” Whitaker, a culinary master with a passion for making people smile, who has been a proud member of the Laughlin River Tours family since September 11, 2014. But Jerry’s journey didn’t start on the river; it began on the shores with Rocky River Jet Ski Rentals, where he first dipped his toes into the world of adventure. When the opportunity arose to swap his life jacket for a chef’s apron, Jerry jumped at the chance, and he’s been cooking up a storm ever since.

Under the guidance of the legendary Chef Art and with Trevor as his mentor, Jerry has honed his skills to perfection. His specialty? A prime rib that will make your taste buds sing. But for Jerry, the real reward comes after the cruise when he hears the satisfied compliments from happy guests.

Originally hailing from Orange County, Jerry made the move to Bullhead in 2005, and he’s never looked back. When he’s not on the clock (which isn’t often, since he loves being at work), you’ll find him bossing around his colleagues with a grin or doting on his beloved wife and two adorable dogs, Mr. the shih tzu and JoJo the chihuahua.

Jerry’s all about comfort, and nothing says comfort like his favorite meal: his momma’s Goulash, a dish that brings back warm memories of growing up with his two brothers. Whether he’s whipping up a gourmet meal on the Grand Celebration or indulging in a hearty helping of hamburger helper, Jerry is all about the simple joys in life—good food, good company, and making people happy.
